Organizers 'Pushing Hard' To Confirm METALLICA For Knebworth

January 19, 2009

According to The Welwyn & Hatfield Times, the organizers of the proposed massive summer rock festival at Knebworth, United Kingdom are still in discussions to secure METALLICA for the headlining slot.

Speaking exclusively to the The Welwyn & Hatfield Times, Knebworth House's managing director Martha Lytton-Cobbold said: "I have nothing confirmed at this stage," but added: "I would love them [METALLICA] to come and I am pushing very hard [to get them]."

Other artists believed to be interested in playing the event include U.S. rock titans RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and British alt rock darlings MUSE.

If confirmed, the event would provide competition to the Download festival, which takes place at Donington from June 12 to 14.
